A Call for Applications - Massey College Junior Fellows

The Canada-U.K. Colloquium (CUKC) is an annual high-level policy forum which brings together politicians, civil servants, business leaders, prominent academics and emerging scholars from both countries for a practical discussion on some of the most pressing challenges facing Canada and the United Kingdom. The CUKC provides a collegial, open and inclusive environment for dialogue and debate on important topics in public policy and has been in place for over four decades as a main forum of bilateral policy discussions between Canada and the UK.

The 2023 CUKC, entitled “The Global Order Beyond Ukraine: Strategic Priorities for Canada and the United Kingdom” will take place from Friday, Nov 24, 2023 to Sunday, Nov 26, 2023. Our Colloquium always seeks to engage policy issues of global importance and this year, we’re focusing on implications of the war in Ukraine on the global energy supply chain, geopolitics of energy, and the role of clean technologies, with a special emphasis on nuclear energy.

As Massey College is one of the co-sponsors for this year’s CUKC, up to two qualified Junior Fellows will be selected to participate in the colloquium in November. The selected Junior Fellows will serve as rapporteurs for the break-out sessions and actively participate in the full programme. Meals will be provided during the colloquium and the selected fellows will be invited to participate in all networking opportunities.

Interested candidates should send a full CV and a short statement of interest (up to 500 words) outlining their interests and relevant experiences to “cukc.2020@gmail.com” by midnight on Oct 31, 2023.  Please note that applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Please send the files as a combined pdf with the following subject line [2023 CUKC – Massey JF application-Your name-Program of Study].

The selection committee will be chaired by Prof. Mel Cappe, Senior Fellow at Massey College, and successful applicants will be notified by early November. Please note that due to high volume of interests, we will only be contacting successful applicants.

Any questions about the Canada-UK Colloquium should be directed to Dr. Tina Park at  ceo@theparkgroup.ca

We look forward to your applications!
