  • Dr. Mel Cappe O.C.

    Mel Cappe is the Co-Chair of the Canada-UK Colloquium. He is a former deputy minister in a number of federal Canadian departments, and was Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet from 1999 to 2002. From 2002 until 2006 he served as Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

  • Anthony Cary CMG

    Anthony is Chairman of the Canada-UK Council. His career was in the FCO, where he was British Ambassador to Sweden (2003-2006) and High Commissioner to Canada (2007-2010). Other postings included Berlin, Kuala Lumpur and Washington DC. He served twice on secondment to the European Commission, latterly as Chris Patten’s chef de cabinet.

  • Professor Nicolas Maclean CMG

    Nicolas Maclean CMG was formerly active in banking and insurance, as well as serving in local government as an elected Councillor and for 15 years in national government as part-time Political Assistant to the then Prime Minister. He initiated the UK prototype for the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET) and was twice elected to Council of Chatham House.
